A random act of kindness from Rosberg

2016 World Champion, Nico Rosberg, has offered to pay £500 for a food delivery after learning a fan was having difficulties getting to the shops.

The heartwarming story emerged on social media after a fan called Laura shared a direct message she received from the former Mercedes driver.

She had previously tweeted that she was having trouble walking due to an as yet undiagnosed neurological problem and was worrying about being able to get food supplies during lockdown.

After learning of troubles, Rosberg got in touch.

‘Hi Laura, I hope you are doing ok in this difficult situation. I saw your tweet and I know it’s everything but easy currently, especially with groceries,’ the message from Rosberg read.

‘I’d really appreciate if I could support you with a £500 supermarket food delivery.’

Laura said the message from Rosberg offering to help has left her ‘floored’.

‘I always say if you want to truly know someone, pay attention how they treat those who can do nothing for them,’  she said.

‘Today, I got this message, and was floored. Every time I’ve met Nico, he’s been kind. But to do this? Believe me, he’s a wonderful person. I swear I’ll pay it forward.’

The post and story has since gone viral and Rosberg has received widespread praise for his act of kindness during these continued difficult times.
