Lewis Hamilton made good progress to third place at the start of the United States Grand Prix, a position good enough to secure a sixth world title at COTA.
Hamilton benefited after the Ferraris ahead suffered dreadful starts.
Sebastian Vettel especially lacked grip, dropping from second place on the grid to seventh.
Alex Albon also had a nightmare start, forced to pit after a heavy collision with Carlos Sainz, which was deemed unworthy of further action.
