Sebastian Vettel is “fully committed” to Ferrari despite continued claims that the German is considering retirement, says team boss Mattia Binotto.
Yet to win a single grand prix this season, Vettel has been dogged by rumours that he is thinking about hanging up his helmet.
The rumours started as early at the Monaco Grand Prix and, even though he has denied it several times, they continue to do the rounds.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone if Vettel admitted he was frustrated after nine races without a win and a 71-point deficit in the championship.
Binotto, though, insists his driver is “fully committed” to Ferrari.
He told Autosport: “I think that Seb is very happy at the moment.
“Obviously he would be happier by winning races and [with] a more performant car.
“But I see he is still really willing to race, to win.
“His dream and his unique objective is to win with Ferrari.
“So no doubt that he’s looking at the future as a person who is fully committed and interested.”
