This weekends GrandPrix was an interesting one, for all the wrong reasons. Max and Ocon coming together, on then off, the track in particular.

This leads to a discussion about Max and his thinking. Doing some research, however, reveals what may be a family trait of violence.

Jos Verstappen, Maxs father, has been in multiple public incidents for violence.

In 1998 Jos Verstappen and his father (Frans Verstappen) settled out of court for a reduced sentence. The story goes that they had a disagreement with other people trying to use the same go-kart track. Unreported if Max was at the track at the time. They left a 45-year-old with a fractured skull and settled out of court 2 years later.

In December 2008, he was accused of assaulting his then-wife Sophie Kumpen but he was not convicted. He was, however, found guilty of violating a restraining order Kumpen had against him and of threatening her via text message. He was given a suspended 3-month sentence and paid a fine.

In January 2012, he was arrested for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend. Two weeks later the charges were dropped so Verstappen escaped further jail time.

More recently Jos was in a pub brawl and on a separate occasion accused of violence against his father;

Not a good sign if Max will follow this lead.
